I am Michelle Manias, an International Transition Strategist & Coordinator based near Treviso, in North-East Italy.

I support private clients, families and professional sports people navigating complex international transitions to and from Italy.

My work brings together strategy, coordination, language, culture and human performance—because relocating successfully on paper does not automatically mean integrating successfully in real life.

I come from Friuli Venezia Giulia, a region shaped by borders, languages and the meeting of different cultures.

Growing up close to Austria, Slovenia and the international community connected to the Aviano area made cultural differences part of ordinary life rather than an abstract subject.

Today, I am based near Treviso, between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

I provide direct, in-depth support in North-East Italy and coordinate wider Italian and international projects through a selected professional network.

My principal geographic focus includes:

  • private and family transitions from the United States and United Kingdom to Italy;

  • retirement and second-home transitions to Italy;

  • professional sport transitions to and from Italy;

  • transitions from Italy to English-, Spanish- and Chinese-speaking destinations.

MY BACKGROUND

My professional background combines translation and interpreting, international languages, intercultural communication, mental and team coaching, human performance and competitive sport.

I have worked across educational, private, business and sporting environments, supporting people who need to communicate, adapt and continue performing while their context is changing.

This multidisciplinary perspective allows me to recognise what may remain invisible when relocation, language, family integration and professional performance are managed as unrelated areas.

A person may know the language and still be unable to express themselves confidently.

A family may have completed every formal procedure and still feel disconnected from daily life.

An athlete may have the required technical ability and still struggle to understand the communication, expectations and relationships within the new club.

MY APPROACH

International moves involve many specialists. But someone still has to connect the whole transition.

A lawyer may handle legal matters.

An immigration adviser may manage formal procedures.

An accountant may address tax questions.

A property professional may support the search for a home.

A club may manage the contract.

A language teacher may provide lessons.

Each professional may do their job well. Yet the person or family moving can still be left alone to understand how all these decisions will work together in everyday life.

That is the space in which I work.

I look beyond the separate tasks and consider the complete transition:

  • the people involved;

  • the destination;

  • the timing;

  • the practical dependencies;

  • the linguistic and cultural preparation;

  • the family system;

  • the professional environment;

  • the first months after arrival;

  • the conditions required for integration and performance.

My role is not to replace specialist professionals.

It is to connect their contribution to a coherent transition strategy built around the client’s real life.

Relocation is only the beginning.

Integration is what determines how people, families and professionals actually live, communicate and perform in the new environment.
